Cartografías de afectos vegetales es un proyecto compuesto por una serie de pinturas y dibujos, una instalación y una vídeo-performance, en el que las plantas de interior son las protagonistas.
El cultivo de la planta en el hogar responde a una necesidad afectiva, no a un interés solo decorativo ni tampoco ecológico. El agrupamiento de macetas hasta hacer el espacio intransitable en muchos patios andaluces muestra este interés por la planta en sí, como representación de vida y naturaleza, de paraíso. Incluso esa macetita solitaria en la mesa de una oficina o en el poyete de una cocina, que se riega entre prisas, por un breve instante nos envía un mensaje de confianza en la vida.
Las plantas de las que nos rodeamos tienen muy diversas procedencias, pero su adaptación a los interiores las han tornado familiares. En las obras se aúnan representaciones de plantas del natural, con mapas de los lugares de procedencia de cada especie y estampados de tejidos, a veces, relacionados con la propia planta. De este modo, macetas bastante comunes en cualquier hogar parecen hablarnos de lejanos viajes y de encuentros multiculturales.
Cartographies of Plants Affections is a project consisting of a series of paintings and drawings, a video installation and performance where the houseplants are the protagonists.
The cultivation of the plant in the household responds to an emotional need , not a single decorative nor ecological interest. The grouping of pots to make the area impassable in many Andalusian patios shown this interest in the plant itself , as a representation of life and nature paradise . Even the lonely flowerpot on an office desk or a kitchen sill , which is watered between haste, for a brief moment, sends a message of confidence in life.
The plants that surround us have very different origins , but their adaptation to the interior have become family . Representations of natural plants merge in these works with maps of the places of origin of each species and patterned fabrics, sometimes related to the plant itself. Thus, quite common in any household pots seem to speak of distant travels and multicultural encounters.
