La serie de pinturas llamadas Ejercicios de estilo consiste en una especie de homenaje a diversos artistas que, a mi entender, han influido en la estética cotidiana y en el diseño de estampados en particular. Así, los cuadros en realidad son reproducciones de alguna obra de arte conocida, pintada al óleo sobre un tejido estampado que he elegido para la ocasión por recordarme de algún modo al artista que la pintó. Para realizarlos, he recorrido tiendas de tejidos curioseando e intentando encontrar referencias del mundo del arte. Sobre cada pintura, además, está escrito el nombre del artista y algún término relativo a la moda.
The series of paintings called «Exercises of Style» consists of a kind of tribute to various artists who, in my opinion, have influenced daily aesthetics and the design of prints in particular. Thus the paintings are actually reproductions of some well-known work of art, painted in oil on a printed fabric that I have chosen for the occasion to remind me in some way of the artist who painted it. In order to realize them, I have visited fabric stores by browsing and trying to find references from the art world. On each painting, besides, is written the name of the artist and some term relative to the fashion.
